Anthony Giuffrida, MD

Bio

Anthony Giuffrida, MD, is a board-certified, fellowship-trained interventional spine and pain medicine physician practicing in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He is Founder and President of the Interventional Spine and Pain Management Group at Cantor Spine Center at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, where he leads a multidisciplinary team focused on minimally invasive, evidence-based care for complex spine and pain disorders, and serves as Director of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Within the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN), Dr. Giuffrida serves as VP of Social Media and Public Engagement, a role connected to ASPN’s Public Relations/Communications committee leadership.

Dr. Giuffrida earned his medical degree from SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York, after completing undergraduate studies at Wilkes University. He completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Albany Medical Center and an Interventional Sport and Spine fellowship at Alabama Orthopedic Spine and Sports Medicine Associates/Andrews Institute. He is board-certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.

His clinical practice addresses lumbar and cervical radiculopathy, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, complex regional pain syndrome, and vertebral compression fractures, using fluoroscopic and ultrasound-guided injections, spinal cord stimulators, radiofrequency ablation, and regenerative medicine techniques such as platelet-rich plasma injections. He is a co-author of ASPN’s Best Practice Guidelines on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Vertebrogenic Pain with Basivertebral Nerve Ablation (Journal of Pain Research, 2022), and his other published work spans basivertebral nerve ablation, thoracic spine conditions, and restorative neurostimulation therapy. He holds memberships in the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Spine Intervention Society, Florida Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, North American Spine Society, North American Neuromodulation Society, International Neuromodulation Society, and the American Medical Association, in addition to ASPN.
