Ashley G. Comer, APRN, NP-C

Ashley G. Comer, APRN, NP-C, is a member of the Advanced Practice Providers Committee of the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN). A board-certified nurse practitioner certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she practices in pain management at The Spine and Nerve Centers of the Virginias in West Virginia.
Born and raised in Charleston, West Virginia, Comer earned an associate degree in nursing from West Virginia State University Community and Technical College, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing with honors from West Virginia University, and a Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University. Before entering pain medicine she spent several years as a registered nurse in orthopedics, critical care, and cardiac surgery, including five years in the Open Heart Recovery Unit at Charleston Area Medical Center.
In her interventional pain practice, Comer manages the clinical care of patients across evaluation, candidate selection, education, procedure follow-up, and review of laboratory and imaging studies. Within ASPN she has contributed to the society’s national guideline work as a co-author of the ASPN NEURON Project’s social media behavior guidelines for healthcare professionals, published in the Journal of Pain Research in 2024.
