John H. Gallagher, MD, MS, is an interventional spine and pain management physician practicing in Jupiter and Port St. Lucie, Florida, with Cantor Spine Center at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute. Within the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience (ASPN), he serves as Vice Chair of the Social Media Committee, supporting the society’s digital outreach and educational content efforts.
Dr. Gallagher earned his undergraduate degree in medical sciences at Bucknell University and a Master of Interdisciplinary Health Science from Drexel University before completing his medical degree at St. George’s University. He completed a transition-year internship at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, Georgia, followed by a residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at Tower Health at Drexel University in Reading, Pennsylvania. He then completed an Interventional Sports and Spine Fellowship at Cantor Spine Center at the Paley Orthopedic & Spine Institute, training under Dr. Anthony Giuffrida. He is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
His clinical practice focuses on minimally invasive treatment of lumbar and cervical radiculopathy, low back and neck pain, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, complex regional pain syndrome, sacroiliac joint dysfunction, and diabetic peripheral neuropathy, using procedures including epidural injections, radiofrequency ablation, kyphoplasty, nerve blocks, and neuromodulation. He holds hospital affiliations with St. Mary’s Medical Center, West Boca Medical Center, and Florida Coast Medical Center.
Dr. Gallagher is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience, the North American Spine Society, the North American Neuromodulation Society, and the International Neuromodulation Society. His publications include a peer-reviewed study on pharmacogenetic testing for NSAID-induced gastropathy in Pain Medicine (2015) and a case report on peripheral nerve stimulation for occipital neuralgia in Regional Anesthesia & Pain Medicine (2022), along with conference poster presentations on complex regional pain syndrome management.
