Keith W. Schmidt, MD

Keith W. Schmidt, MD, is a member of the Healthy, Longevity, and Age-Related Pain Committee of the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN). He is a triple board-certified anesthesiologist and pain management physician who practices with Ascension Medical Group Illinois in Hoffman Estates, Illinois.
Dr. Schmidt is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology in both anesthesiology and pain medicine and by the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. He earned his medical degree from Spartan Health Sciences University in 2009 and completed residency training at the John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County in Chicago, where he served as chief resident and received the Robert D. Dripps, MD Memorial Award. He completed fellowship training in interventional pain management at Rush University Medical Center.
His clinical practice focuses on cancer-related pain, complex regional pain syndrome, joint pain, spine disorders, and post-surgical pain, and he performs interventional procedures including epidural injections, spinal cord stimulation, kyphoplasty, and radiofrequency ablation. He is affiliated with Ascension Saint Alexius and Ascension Alexian Brothers.
