Kenneth B. Chapman, MD, serves as a Director at Large on the leadership board of the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience (ASPN). He is Medical Director of the Spine and Pain Institute of New York, where he directs the fellowship program, and holds an academic appointment as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative Care, and Pain Medicine at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. He maintains hospital privileges at NYU Langone Medical Center and Staten Island University Hospital (Northwell Health), where he has served as director of pain management overseeing a multi-physician pain team.

Dr. Chapman earned his medical degree from St. George’s University School of Medicine, completed an internship at Lenox Hill Hospital, an anesthesiology residency at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center (New York Presbyterian), and an Interventional Pain Management fellowship at Cleveland Clinic, where he received the Ethlene R. Smith Most Outstanding Fellow award. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology and holds Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) status.

His clinical and research focus centers on neuromodulation, including dorsal root ganglion (DRG) stimulation and spinal cord stimulation for chronic pain, alongside minimally invasive procedures such as lumbar decompression, endoscopic discectomy, and radiofrequency ablation. He has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on interventional pain topics, including studies on DRG stimulation and burst spinal cord stimulation, and serves as a board examiner for Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice certification. He teaches pain medicine residents and fellows and lectures nationally and internationally.
