Mark N. Malinowski, DO, DABPM, FIPP, serves the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) as Assistant Vice President, Office of Reimbursement & Regulatory Affairs, and as Chair of the Advocacy & Policy Committee, where he has helped lead the society’s responses to Medicare coverage and coding matters affecting interventional pain procedures. He practices interventional and surgical pain management with OhioHealth Neurological Physicians (OhioHealth Physician Group) in Columbus, Ohio, and also serves as a Director-at-Large on the Board of Directors of the North American Neuromodulation Society (NANS).

Dr. Malinowski earned a Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Zoology (Neuromuscular Physiology) from Miami University, followed by his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a traditional internship in internal medicine at Western Pennsylvania Hospital, an anesthesiology residency and a fellowship in regional anesthesiology and acute pain medicine at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, and a pain medicine fellowship at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology, board certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine, and holds Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice (FIPP) certification from the World Institute of Pain.

His clinical focus centers on advanced neuromodulation and minimally invasive spinal procedures, including spinal cord stimulation, dorsal root ganglion stimulation, and intrathecal drug delivery. He has authored or co-authored dozens of peer-reviewed publications and book chapters in this field, including a first-author article on the sustainability of implantable spinal cord stimulation therapies in Expert Review of Medical Devices (2024) and a chapter on sacroiliac joint anatomy in the Oxford University Press text Sacroiliac Joint Pain: A Comprehensive Guide to Interventional and Surgical Procedures. He is also a co-author of the NANS educational curriculum for intrathecal drug delivery system implantation and management.
