Paul Verrills, MD

Member, Healthy, Longevity, and Age-Related Pain Committee

Paul Verrills, MD, is a member of the Healthy, Longevity, and Age-Related Pain Committee of the American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN). He is a founder and director of Metro Pain Group in Melbourne, Australia, where he practices full-time interventional pain management.

Dr. Verrills earned his medical degree from the University of Queensland and completed a Masters in Pain Medicine at the University of Newcastle under Professor Nikolai Bogduk. He is a Fellow of the Australasian Faculty of Musculoskeletal Medicine and holds the International Fellowship in Interventional Pain Practice. He is a past President of the Neuromodulation Society of Australia and New Zealand.

His clinical interests center on interventional pain techniques and neuromodulation, including spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, and radiofrequency neurotomy, along with the treatment of spine pain and headache. He has contributed to ASPN consensus work as a co-author of the society’s NEURON group guidelines on physiologic closed-loop controlled neuromodulation in chronic pain, published in the Journal of Pain Research.
