ASPN Basivertebral Nerve Ablation Treatment Guidelines

Posted Aug 24, 2022The American Society of Pain and Neuroscience (ASPN) published best-practice guidelines covering basivertebral nerve (BVN) ablation for the treatment of vertebrogenic pain — chronic low back pain originating in the vertebral endplates. Developed by an ASPN multidisciplinary workgroup and published in the Journal of Pain Research in 2022, the guidelines grade the evidence for BVN ablation and describe how to identify vertebrogenic pain and select appropriate patients.
